convert coupe to targa top
convert coupe to targa top
I have an '87 formula coupe, no t-tops
and i was thinking of converting it to a targa top. I know i need to reenforce the subframe, and am getting subframe connectors and a strut tower brace, is there anything else i need besides the hardware for the targa top and a good fabricator?

A t-top car...
Do a search on the on Targa Tops and I believe there is a specific thread of someone (rather a few people) actually doing a targa top fab.
ps. welcome to the board!

Targaing is no different than a vert. You eliminate all the structure of the car weld in some minimal SFC's then put in your high torque engine and wait for the problems to start. Your car with a stock 305 TBI will crack the roof if it allready hasen't! Good luck and enjoy destroying your otherwise straight and driveable car!
