looks alot better for sure. did you use anything to seel the rust away, or just off the shelf primer?
looks great nonetheless, just don't want to see the rust come back!

Re: how do you guys think it looks so far?
The best way to keep that rust from coming back is to spot blast with a sand blaster. i use a $50 sears one and a 5 hp compressor. The problem with just sanding is that it leaves tiny bits of rust in the surface. After sand blasting, i usually use some metal conditioner ( fancy name for acid with additivies). Then blow it dry, prime and paint. If the rust bubbles back out, try that next time. Looks great for now though.

Re: how do you guys think it looks so far?
Body shops paint entire panels at a time just so they don't have that ridge. There really isn't any "nice" way of getting rid of it. It's built up paint. if you color sand it with 1200/1500/2000, then buff it, you can probably make it smooth, BUT you will also likely burn through the red and into the primer at the edge. There's lots of heartburn available for diy painters.........i've doing it for 30 years and I still manage to find new ways to make mistakes.........
