Wheels Rubbing

My wheels rub at tight turns and when I hit some extreme bumps on the free way. Is there a way I can modify my wheel well to ensure this doesnt happen anymore? Maybe spacers to push the well in farther, or remove it, or maybe remove sections of the well?

Front and rear are 18x8 - 245/40/ZR18. Rubs on outer part of the tred at full lock, and a little at a little less that full lock. Could my car be lowered?

Ill post some pictures if neccessary.

I am not original owner and I don't know what mods they put on it. All help is appreciated.

Thanks!

-Jay

Re: Wheels Rubbing

I have rubbing on my 87 TA now too. Im running a pro-kit and 17x9.5 4th gen WS6 wheels. I rub on the plastic inner wells and its pretty annoying.

Its only when turning. I havent come up with a solution yet. But I think Im going to try to use a heat gun, heat up the contact area +1/4 and try to form it in alittle. Just enough to give the tire clearance.

If that doesnt do it, I guess Ill just live with it.

Re: Wheels Rubbing

Im in the same boat. I had to file my ground effects a little and smack the inner fender area with a mallet. It still dose it a little. When I take the fenders off to put new ones on I will take a closer look at the problem.
