Aero Wing Clips???

Just picked one up, the wing isnt too bad on paint and cracks, but it was stored outside for a while, the clips are completely rotten. I did a search and it didnt look very hopeful. Does anyone sell these?????

If not, does someone have a picture of one, i could try fabricating it myself. I would use mine, but they are so rusty, theres not much left.

Re: Aero Wing Clips???

The fiberglass ones use sheet metal screws. You screw them in and then the head fits into the little tabs on the frame around the glass. But if the clips are rusted off of this spolier it will not be long before the spolier starts splitting since the metal frame rusting inside the rubber is what causes them to split. But you could try doing the same way using a sheet metal screw, just don't go all the way trough the spoiler arm.

If your rear glass frame doesn't already have the taps welded to it. My fiber glass spoiler came with little metal "hooks" that you screw into the spoiler and it slips around the glass frame. All it was was thin metal bent in a U with a hole on one side to screw it on. Unfortantly I threw them away since my car came with the aero spoiler.

Hmm i think i see what youre saying. No this wing is not original to my hatch, so i will have to be creative. I think im best off experimenting with my berlinetta hatch, and transplating as one big peice.

Fabrication, here i come.
