The question isn't asking for opinons and this is a body question... moved -->
The 82-92 basic shell/sheetmetal did not change over the 10 year run, it's all bolt on. The according front & side skirts have to be changed along with the entire rear bumper. Weather the holes line up down the sides of the body, I'd say probably not 100%. As far as fitting the body lines, not an issue.
A search will aid your question as well.

Yes, you can put the gfx (except the front bumper/nose which, could probably be done with mods) from any year on your car, the question of filling holes down the sides (fenders, doors, rear 1/4's) is the only issue. Other than that, the newer gfx fitting your cars body lines is not an issue.
The front chin spoiler, valance, skirt (or whatever name you wish to call it) will bolt up to the nose. The 85-92 nose for any model was the same.

On your 86 all you need to buy is the front GFX.
The 85-92 bumper covers were all the same, they just changed the GFX on the 91/92. The only exception I can think of were the SC models, the couple I've seen seem to have the older 82-84 style front bumper covers. I may be wrong on that, but the pictures I've seen look like it.
I have an 84, and I'm adding the 91/92 style GFX right now. I had to replace the entire front bumper cover. Bummer I was 1 year off (lol)
You will need to replace the rear bumper cover, since it's different.
The rest will fit in place, but the holes may be in a different spots. That's now biggie tho.
