I am remodeling my firebird and I have come accross new pairs of lexan t-tops. Being that they are new in box, and are perfect with no scratches or spiderwebbing or any blemishs at all, I was wondering when I put them on is there anything I could put them on in order to maintain them. My previous t-tops were heavily spiderwebed, and basically white on the top, so I was hoping that I could prevent that with this pair. So if you have any ideas, please inform, Thx. :-D
First off you remodel a house not a firebird
Second, the dealer solution to repair/prevent starring of lexan t-tops was to replace them with glass t-tops
If you somehow got new lexans, Id save those babies for another decade or so when retoration guru's would be willing to trade their wife for a hard to find part

umm, correct me if im mistaken, but werent the glass ones used in older fbodies and the lexans in newer third gens?
Yes and no
All older models got glass
Most newer models got lexan but a good many went back to the dealer under warranty with hazing or starring t-tops. The dealers usually swapped in glass replacements
Some dealers went ahead and put glass tops in before selling them
I got a lecture from an old salesman who told me how much he hated selling these cars
