Hatch/Spoiler Light

This is more of an electrical question, hope i posted in the right place.

Just traded my hatch for an aero spoiler type hatch. Both have the third brake light in the spoiler. My old one worked fine, the new ones bulbs look good, but no light.

What did i do wrong? From what i can tell, there is a little wire/connector under the decklid, and those contact things hit the ones on the car, and you have electrical connection. My pull down motor is functioning correctly, if that matters. Any ideas as to why the brake light wont come on?

Re: Hatch/Spoiler Light

I guess the answer im looking for, is HOW the brake light works? I realize solving problems with half the info on a text thread isnt always easy, but if someone could explain how it works (ie: how its wired) i could probably figure it out. Thanks,.
