New paint: what small areas to buff and how?
Will be applying the new paint to the Camaro next weekend (top black, bottom and sides white) and am wanting to know what everyone buffed / polished when it came to the little pieces and nooks. I painted the hood louvers, should I sand and try to polish those by hand? What about the indent in the rear bumber and the gfx by the doors, same thing?
I have a regular buffer that is varible speed (1200-3000 RPM) and I have a dual action buffer that is 2500 RPM and something like 5 or 8 orbits per minute. Would it be best to use the rubbing and polishing compounds with the buffer and then the fine polish and swirl remover with the dual action? Or us the polish with the dal action. What speeds are people using there polishers at on new paint?

Wait at least 20-30 days after painting before buffing. Let the paint settle.
Do not buff the louvers. They might break and are hard to find to replace. Polish by hand.
I have used the dual action for everything but it really depends on your buffer skills. Just don't burn your paint.
I buff my GFX all of the time. The buffer will also fit inside the indentation on the bumper.

How long did it take with your dual action and did it take more compounding? I wonderd if the dual action would get the paint "hot" enough to work well. Should I wet sand the louvers before polishing them by hand?
