Quality weatherstripping? How to remove this piece?
Hey guys, I have seen weatherstripping everywhere, for low to high prices. Can anyone recommend any? I can't tell what's good for our money and whose ripping you off. Hawks a good one to go or not? looks pricier
I also have a more complicated problem, I've posted about this before but no one answers and the post dies off. All weatherstripping now removed except for the too smallest pieces. I'm having trouble removing the weatherstripping on my outer door windows.
it's the number 1 piece in this image:

The way these are removed is by removing the inner side panels in the car, and simply getting to them by removing the screws... but... even with the windows completely lowered, I cannot get to two of the screws because the top of the windows are blocking them. It seems like I'd have to remove the power windows in order to remove these small pieces of stripping. Has anyone ever gotten around this? I'm sure you people have changed these strippings before, lol, you've done just about everything else.
Thanks!

You'll have to copy paster the link, for some odd reason it's linking to another page when clicked

you do need to remove the top black plastic trim. it's really best to remove the whole door pannel if you want to save the weatherstrip.
what i see is the standard door stripping. this part..

this is very easy to remove. i usually just gently work out the plastic screws. unscrew the 2 screws at either end which can be reached once you remove the top black plastic that runs the length of the top of the door.
as far as what's good. so far soffseal is the best i've seen in comparison to gm. i just ordered a complete hardtop kit for my 91 show car and so far it has been great. i wanted gm but spending $900 on weatherstripping they can jump off a bridge as i can buy a spare thirdgen for that.
