ok i lost the picture but on craigslist a while back there was a guy selling a firebird with a camaro front end; he called it his Fimaro. i thought it looked pretty cool. does anyone know how easy/hard this would be?

 

I know a while ago i was driving and i saw a camaro driving down the street i was like ahh sweet, a nice thirdgen camaro. then he made a turn and i saw the rear was a firebird. I was like WTF?? thought i was seeing things. Personally I don't care for it but i guess i can see why people would be interested in it. as for making one, i don't see why it would be difficult. other then changing the header panel with the headlight buckets from the camaro to a firebird.

 

you also have to change the front 2 quarter panels because where the nose meets the bumper on the camro is straight up and down and the firebirdds are at a slight angle. i once saw a wrecked 92 bird with a camaro nose and it looked horrible because he didnt change the quarters so it was tilted towards the ground.

 

Isn't the Camaro nose/Firebird tail how the 88 Concept IROC looked?

Personally, keep the Camaro a Camaro, and the Bird, a Bird.

The 1/4 panels are different between the Camaros and the Birds too.

 

i saw one yesterday too, im thinkn about it look at my car its messed up i need to fix it and camaros are more common at the boneyard, camaro fenders are shorter for sure

 

I hate wings so much, but I love that concept car. When I saw that it got put in GT4, I was like, .

If I ever get a hardtop to go along my T-Top, I would totally try to emulate that.

If you ask me.. I like them when they are "molded together". I love a fiebird rear.. But personally i HATE the pop up headlights. I think there ugly and cheesy. But thats just me... Not trying to knock anyone.. Just i don't like them.. id rather have a bird rear and maro front.

 

Pop-up headlights came into being on the birds because Pontiac wanted to decrease drag on the car. Pop-up headlights were one of the ways they did that. I'm not a big fan of them up, but with them down I think the car looks much better.

 

I bought some parts from a guy from Madison, Wisconsin that had a firebird with a camaro front,,...... looked interesting....

 

Completely Agree. how ever.... I use my lights quite a bit... so im not able to have them down all the time.. so id rather.. well not have them and have a camaro front end.

 

im considering cus my front is trashed and i dont like how the nose looks on the 84 s/e compared to a ta and im more likely to get camaro body parts at the boneyard.....so what all is needed to switch noses?
oh and my hood is trashed anyways and i only have one ok fender, so why not!

 

I have the parts to make your firebird look like a 84 trans am or 85-90 trans am make me an offer ..... or a front end of an 87 camaro

no clue what you have, i geuss i need the entire nose, that front plate between the headlight since mine is bad and inner gutts since mine are hit.

i personally think it looks great. it doesnt deface the car like a body kit would, but it gives the car a unique appearance. the rear quarter on the firebird is a bit curvy-er than the camaro. i like it

Everything is straight bolt on. You just need to change the headlight wiring harness. Did it to an 85 bird when the wife wrecked it. had 84 Z in the back yard.

 

There was one guy that done that here. He was completly clueless he tried tell me that it came from the factory that way
