High/Low pressure zones 4 hood weatherstripping

I saw this before but can't seem to find it anymore.

Does removing the underhood weatherstripping aid or impede hot air removal while driving?
The thread I saw had something to do with "wicking" but I keep coming up with the wrong stuff.
