How to remove door glass?

I'm starting to remove my door glass in on my Camaro and have every 10mm bolt out, however the glass still won't seem to come out. I've looked at it time and time again, but I'm missing something. Do I have to remove the window motor as well? What am I not doing to get this sucker out of the door?

Yeah, I think you'll have to bite the bullet and grind down those rivets holding on the window motor (unless someone has replaced them with bolts). Pretty sure the regulator needs to come out before the glass will.

Re: How to remove door glass?

There are 4 Rivits holding the glass to the Track/Regulator assembly.

You will need to drill those out to remove the glass.....the Regulator does not have to come out at all.

First, Take a punch and hammer to punch out the middle "shaft" of the rivit, then drill the rivit out, and the glass will slip out the top of the door.

Yes the rivets will have to come out, like previous poster said tap out center then drill, You will need the same type of glass rivets, you can purchase from an auto glass shop, very cheap they're aluminum. also regular rivet gun will not work they have a larger one that i remember.

I just used nylock bolts and nuts when I put my back in after converting to Manual windows. I used the factory Bushings that come out when you drill out the rivits.

Re: How to remove door glass?

Actually you can remove the glass without drilling any rivets. If it still matters. After you remove All the 10mm bolts & the key to remove the front triangle seal with the guide that it bolts to.You can then seperate the glass from the regulator. The track guide that is riveted to the bottom of the glass doesnt need to be removed from the glass. What you do is slide the track off the two rollers on the regulator.Once this is done you slide the glass out the front.Where the triangle seal used to be.You can re-install it in the same manner.Ive done this more than once.So i know it'll work.
