Question about T-Tops on a '92 Camaro RS

I was wondering what types of t-tops are available for the 1992 Camaro RS? I bought a set off Ebay, being the novice car enthusiast I am, and they didn't fit. Apparently, they have the "hook" latch instead of the "pin" type that mine have. I have also heard there are "small pin" types, as well as "large pin" types. I'm really needing to know the difference, because I'm in desperate need of replacement tops, since mine are shattered.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Re: Question about T-Tops on a '92 Camaro RS

the older cars had the hook, the mid to late 80s had the smaller pin, and the 90s had the larger pin... as near as I can tell from looking through posts on here.
It may be possible to swap the latch mechanism fro the old broken tops to the ones you just bought.
I read the the 2 pins styles are easy to swap, not sure about the hook style.

Re: Question about T-Tops on a '92 Camaro RS

Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah, unfortunately, I bought the "hook" type from Ebay, and I don't think there's ANY way to make those things fit with the "pin" type I have. I guess I'll just wait a couple of weeks until I can actually post on here on the classifieds, and see if I can find some that actually fit my car.
Thanks, again....

where are you located? there's 2 sets for sale in the classifieds listed on the first page.
Also try checking local junkyards.

Don't forget you have the C&C t-tops.That also use a pin style latch, but will not fit/work with the GM t-tops.

Re: Question about T-Tops on a '92 Camaro RS

I live in rural Arkansas, so it's extremely difficult to find ANYTHING around here, much less t-tops for my car. I honestly had no idea there were so many different types of latches. So, I am confused as to which type I should really be asking for, since there is yet ANOTHER type 81 1LE mentioned.

I'll have to go to the classifieds whenever I get my 15+posts, or my 15 days are up. I can't post or request anything in that area until I satisfy those requirements, per the administrator of this site.... I guess I can wait a couple of more weeks.....

Thanks, again to everybody who responded. I feel kinda like a dummy, but I really don't want to waste any more money on t-tops that don't fit... that gets expensive FAST!

Have a great evening.....
