My 84 Z28

Hey all. I joined this site beacuse i recently acuired a new toy, and I had a few questions. Well the ones I've asked have gotten qiuck answers and iIjust wanted to say thanks for all your help already! In one thread someone suggested posting pictures and i had no way of doing it, until now. These are cell phone quality but you'll get the picture

Side view:

Front view(shes winking):

And the L69 that was horribly rigged up to live (barely):

So far ive decided to attack the engine first while its still warm out, so ill be able to move it around and in a garage where i can do a bit of work on it. I bought it as a winter project and am hoping to get in on the road spring of '08. I bought her for $400 and the drivetrain seems solid. Its got some rust spots but nothing i dont mind taking care of. Its got a B&M megashifter (which i dont really care for) and what i beleve to be a shift kit. So there she is in all her glory haha. Im hoping to keep her with me for a long time. Also im open to your guys suggestions on what work to do on the beast, sence im sure many of you have been down this road before. Once again thanks alot.

Re: My 84 Z28

Im pretty positive. Atleast that what the RPO decoder said. I know ive only got one snorkle, that cant be the right air cleaner housing. Like i said the guy that had it before me jimmy rigged it to run. The silver lines that are supposed to be 3/8"(i think) vacum lines are acually braided water hose lines, and the fuel line was a sink hose that was collapsed and melted. Mounted toggle switches that i need to trace back, i know one was a control for the cooling fan. Im finding more and more of theese surprises as i go along but its a good learnig experince, its my first carbuerated vehicle.

Re: My 84 Z28

to start, get it runing strong and safe. eliminate any possible fire starters such as loose hoses and wires ect.. then deal with the stearing and suspension make sure she is all tigh. no leaking shocks or loose tie-rod ends. also it looks like she may have been slightly neglencted so a brake system flush or at very least bleed would probibly help. what color is your coolent? green or brownish rust color? flush coolent? these are all just things to consider but that is the order i go over everything in a new car when i start a project. safety, function,......then looks.
