Hi,
I recently bought my first car, a 1988 Pontiac Firebird with the 2.8L V6.
It's a bit of a fixer-upper, so I'm probably going to be asking a lot more questions here in the near future.
But right now, this is my question:
What is the that fin thing that's seems to be bolted to the underside of the front bumper? And where can I get a new one?
It seems to be some sort of plastic thing that helps direct the air up into the radiator.
The old lady I bought this car from must have hit a couple of speed bumps at high speed or something because the thing on my car appears to almost be completely chipped off.

In the first pic, the fin thing I am talking about is above the red line.
The second pic is of a different angle.

You are correct, it is an air dam that helps with air flow to the radiator.

 

wow....this must be a jay only thread......you can get another one cheap at a junk yard.....25-30 bucks

 

Brand new is like $32. Might still be available at the dealer as well.
