It's in the center console on camaros. I believe it is on the door or in the door jam on T/A's?Firebirds...I think driver's side. If the car has been painted or it just came off over the years though, I think there is another sheet with option codes and what not under the carpet if you remove it...which Im sure you don't want to do unless you have to yet :-p

If I am not mistaken 82-84 do not have RPO stickers. The guys on the History and Restoration board will have the answers. As far as rebuilding it? Hows the paint, interior, hows it run mechanically, is there rust, decals good? IMO, the first thing you should do is figure out what you want to do. I would first make sure that everything works. Pwr windows, locks, hatch controls, is the exhaust original, AC work? Once it all works then you have something to build off of. Going that route will give you less problems in the future.
CFI is not a favrote when it comes to performance, but it does have some historical sentiment. If if were my car I would get it running 110%, make it cosmetically pleasing, and replace the exhaust with a header/catback system.

I think I would go back to all original if I were going to do anything to it. That is one of those cars that holds all its value via originality. If it is a real pace car edition, than a limited number were made and trying to keep one in good running condition and all original is what will make that car worth the most in the long run. However, if it is a car you like for a particular reason or aren't keeping based on monetary value alone, than I would make it my own. If I liked a different color, or interior options, etc. I would make it to my liking. It's up to you. I would personally keep it all original.
