Headlight Door not Flush

Hello -
My right headlight door all the sudden kind of sunk down a bit and is no longer flush with the hood and fender. Is this indicative of a bad headlight motor or is there some screw that I can adjust to bring it back up and make it flush?
Thanks.

Re: Headlight Door not Flush

If you mean while the head light is down it is not flush, then you should be able to adjust it. If you pop the hood and raise it there are two bolts there holding the headlight to the car. Also from underneath the car there are two bolts holding the headlight in place. Loosen all four bolts a bit and get someone to help you get the light flush with the fender and hold it in place. Then tighten your bolts back down. You will most likely need to jack the car up and get underneath to get to the bottom bolts. Be sure you use jack stands! Good Luck!

I will check. I've messed around with the top two bolts but they only seem to shift it from left to right not up down. I'll check the other two bolts underneath. Thanks!

Re: Headlight Door not Flush

Has there been any recent work done on this car?Could possibly be a number of things.Hood alignment, hood hinge alignment, front bumper cover alignment.I see you're in AZ. so I guess rust isn't an issue.I have seen cars here in FL. that had rotted battery trays that made the core support drop about 1/4".

Re: Headlight Door not Flush

Are there any other symptoms such as the motor continuing to run for 5-6 seconds until it shuts off? If so the bushings inside the gear are going bad and need to be replaced. I sell a repair kit TDS 209280.
