try and push as much as you can out.. 1/2 inch of bondo would be a little much.. you want to put as little as possible and in thin layers not all at once...

If you can't push it out, rent or buy a stud gun. It spotwelds pins onto the bare metal so you can slip over the slide hammer to take out the dents. Just slowly work the area and don't try and pull everything out all at once.

stud gun is the way to go, they're not ridiculously (sp?) expensive at eastwood either.

I don't know the exact name of it, but I recommend something even better than that if you rent. Use a self-welding dent puller, no need to mess with studs and makes it easier to feel the metal as you go. After grinding all paint/primer from the damaged area, simply place the slide-hammer where you want, hit the switch (it welds itself to the metal), slide-hammer as needed, give it a light twist to break the weld and move on. When you're done with that, make a few passes with the grinder to smooth everything out and feather the paint back with a D/A, then apply filler.

Forgot about that option since I've only heard about it once. Friend works at a body shop and he told me about that a couple months ago.

o could use the old school dent puller were u drill the hole. But if u do it this way u have to weld the holes up and paint the inside of the door. Not the best way but it works.

If the metal is free of dust and whatnot, the tip stays cleaner much easier. But yeah, burn some debris and hear/see it "POP" and it won't work until you hit the tip with some 80grit.
