STUPID question!
i've been trying to solve my t-top woes for the past couple days and i thought i had a solution, but maybe not. now i need someone to solve the following problem for me:
is there any difference in the actual glass/plexi size of 3rd gen t-tops through the years?
someone called me and said they had a set of T's off an 89 T/A. while on the phone, we compared dimensions on our respective T's and his are like 2 inches shorter and an inch or so narrower...
i thought they were all supposed to be the same size.
is this guy on crack or something?

Re: STUPID question!
Was he just measuring the actual see thu part, and you were measuring edge to edge, trim included? Only thing I can think of.

Re: STUPID question!
that's what i was wondering! i kept asking "are you measuring the outside edge to outside edge of the whole piece?" and he kept saying he was.
i mean, they're all supposed to be the same size, right?!

Re: STUPID question!
No idea if the locks are all the same, same size, same place, but yeah. Roofs are the same, so no reason they shouldn't be the same size.
Unlike 'verts, where some were aftermarket conversions, some factory. But, weren't all the t-tops factory?

Re: STUPID question!
well i dunno but if you look on hawks, they have t-top seals for 'cars and concepts' or somethign like that that are smaller than the factory ones so thats all i can really think of
This is a New Camaro or Firebird 82-92 "Cars & Concepts" T-top surround seal weatherstripping. Sold per side. Shipping is not included. Call or email for shipping quotes. There are only two types of T-Tops for '82-'92 Models. The easiest way to quickly identify which type you have is to measure the t-top glass length where the glass fits under the center t-bar:Factory Installed T-Tops (Fisher) = 30 1/4" Aftermarket Installed T-Tops (Cars & Concepts) = 28"
^^^thats from teh hawks site describing the two different kinds of seals

Re: STUPID question!
Right, there were indeed aftermarket t-tops that were a different size than factory tops. They were made by "Cars and Concepts" and can be hard to find these days.

Re: STUPID question!
Check the Treasure Chests (a.k.a. Junk Yards), I've seen a couple sets in one around here a few weeks ago.
