84 camaro help/advice
84 camaro help/advice
getting an amazing deal, only a few problems with the car, its an 84 camaro:
1. passanger side window dosnt go down
2. small oil leak, the guy says where the dipstick goes into the motor, the rubber ***** off, is this common, or can it be somthing else
3. there is a leak in the firewall, and it leaks onto the floor, looks like im going to have to pop the dash out and fix it,
just wondering if these are common problems with the older 3rd gen camaro's and if it isnt to hard to fix these problems, thank you for reading!

Re: 84 camaro help/advice
not really a big deal, and all of your answers are going to be kind of common sense.
if the windows are electrical rule out any electrical issues first, then just pop the inner door panel off and look at whats wrong
the oil leak is common, my buddy has an 84 and i dont think his has any seal anymore climbs all the way up the dipstick tube. obviously not a big deal new dipstick and your set. Only other thing it could be is if its leaking out the oil pan somewhere but thats one of those just stick your head underneath the car and check.
and the last problem, that can happen to any car, heater core is isnide the dash. sucks but ya pop out the dash and find the leak

And especially don't put it in your oil unless you want to kiss your oil pump good bye.
If you don't feel like changing out the heater core immediately, then just bypass it for the time being. Do a
for the heater core bypass, this has been covered in several threads. Thread
