gfx swap, yes or no

I have an 87 Trans Am that I have slowly been doing body work on, Im hoping to shoot paint around April or sooner. heres my question, since I have my gfx off, and I have a welder, what do you guys think of the idea of putting 91-92 camaro aero rocker and door gfx on it? if I can find a set for a good price I think it'll look pretty sweet, what are your guys opinions?

Re: gfx swap, yes or no

this sounds like a very unique mod that i would love to see what it looks like. Just know you are going to get a bunch of "OMG don't ever do that" replies here because most hate seeing anything but the stock look. If it is something that you want to try out, DO IT. don't wait around for other's opinions.

Re: gfx swap, yes or no

Well Tmic87TPI, I am one person that deff. won't flame you for this conversion.I did the conversion on my 89 (bird) to the 91-92 style and absolutely love it.I think the 91-92 style birds and camaros are the best looking thirdgens.I just like the diff. looking gfx. I think it gives them more character than the just square look.
I got a few pics of my car currently on here. I think you may have seen them. The (wetsanding/buffing made easy)thread.
I like the earlier style thirdgens too, just prefer the later style.

I think it would look cool though ... I like the openings on the 91'ish camaro's ground effects.

Man,I have no idea what the previous owner was thinking when he decided to cut that front bumper up like that.I still have it if you're interested LOL! btw,the previous owner also thought it would look cool to paint all the interior side pieces and digital dash cluster with chevy orange engine paint! That stuff is all long gone now.It was a major piece of crap when I got it,but has made a major turn around (obviously)!Anyway,I say heck yeah to your swap and wish you all the luck in the world.
