I have the problem.
Just get my Camaro, it came from Texas, it seams the car was parked all it's life outdoors on sun. So in result all rubber parts get cracked and hard like plastic.
So I went for change on every rubber part.
So the biggest problem I did not solve yet - HOW TO REMOVE OLD FRONT WINDSHIELD MOULDING as it is very hard like plastic. I'm afraid to crack my windshield.
Any suggestions, please? Is it any compound to soften the moulding or just I'd try to remove it as it is ?????

 

once you remove it you cant put another back in until the window is removed anyways.

 

Dyo You mean if I'll try to remove it out the windshield will be cracked anyway?

 

nah it shouldn't but to put new molding in you have to replace the window.

 

I must cut out the window anyway to replace the moulding, right?

 

yep cause once the urethane sealant sets it's like a rock and I dont think you can get the original molding anywhere again.

I remove these pieces from cars at the JY, most of the time they crack, but I have gottem some nice strips before. Infact, last year on my 85 I installed a used strip with black windshield caulking

out of curiosity, but where did you get the windshield moulding from?

 

you can get it from ebay new.

 

I just did mine recently. Yanked the old one out without a problem. Bought a new one from ebay for about 30 bucks.
