rear window louvers?

Whats up, this is Justin from Charlotte/Denver area. my question is: I bought a set of rear window louvers on ebay from a guy in Charlotte, the louvers did not have an installation kit....I bought them for $50; how do i install the louvers, what do i need to buy...heres the pic.....i laid the louvers on the rear window to see how they fit, they disguised my 3rd brake light well, just need to figure how to attach it...not really wanting to use 3m tape LOL....thanks everyone.

Re: rear window louvers?

Without the clips for the install, I don't think you can. And I haven't found a single source for these *anywhere*. They do appear to be the GM original, and not the aftermarket available at the same time though. I intend to take mine apart for restoration, and would take pictures, but I think that's too far into the future to help you much.

Re: rear window louvers?

Those are not the factory louvers. They are a cheaper set and without knowing who the manufacturer is, locating mounting hardware will not be easy.

Re: rear window louvers?

To Mount those louvers you will need these mounts that slide between the window bolt and the window and the tabs off the louvers hook to them.

The problem with that mounting option is that you can easily disrupt the hatch alignment. You can also overtighten the hatch bolts which can cause the window to shatter. Ask me how I know! How do those latch at the bottom? What keeps them from flapping around.
