OKay guys I have a 87 iroc and just want some opinions on if it would look okay.
The car is bright red (does anyone know the paintcode for this)

I was thinking of painted just the underside of the hook Black since it is like half primer since the insulation isnt on it anymore.

Would it look okay black or should I just pick up a colour match can and spray it body colour??

I guess it depends on your preference.
If that car in the pic above was my car,and had the engine mods you listed
I would want the engine compartment body color as well as the underside of the hood(insulation or no insulation)
But I also kinda like a black engine compartment as long as its done right.

 

I would actually do it the same color as the car.

 

i would piant it what ever color the engine compartment is. is your inner fenders are black then go with black but if they are still body color then go with red

 

I disagree with painting it to match the engine bay color. My stock engine bay color was red BUT the underhood insulation was black. I'd paint it black, wether (spelling) be flat or gloss. I would do it (and the engine bay) Satin Black.
