Hatch release not working

My hatch button doesnt open the hatch. The problem is also that i have no key cylinder in it either. So with the switch not working and no key, cant open the rear. Is there any manual way to open it? I have tried to diagnos the wiring, but having trouble with that, so fugure if i could get the hatc hup and put a new cylinder in there it would open manually......

Check the relay. In a Camaro, it's behind the shifter.

Re: Hatch release not working

also check in the dr side kick panel as there is a fuseable link that can go. that was the issue with my 83. you can test your relay with a 9v batt by crossin the post. thats how i ruled out my relay. the relay James speaks of is right above the ALDL plug so that panel needs to come down.

Re: Hatch release not working

the ALDL plug is the plu thats at your knee where you check codes. i forgot to mention, the fuseable link looks like a diode, resistor, capasator take your pick. its quite small and will poss be on the black wire. whats strange is mine was in silver tape and this was factory.
