flexing hood

i am running a harwood lift off hood that seems to lift in the middle in the front . when the car is parked the hood sits perfect on the car but at about 45 mgh you can see the hood start to lift and flex. any idea how i can stop this from happening. after the car is painted this is going to cause the paint to spider and flake i beleive.

Re: flexing hood

Nothing you can do. That's the flexing of the 'glass, being pulled up by the low air pressure at speed.

Like the wings of a plane. The low pressure area on top, combined with high pressure from underneath, causes it to flex & lift.

You might be able to re-route some under car air around the car, reducing the higher air pressure under the hood, to reduce or eliminate the flex.

Re: flexing hood

on the bottom side of the hood is a brace that surronds the hood ,would it be possible to mount a bracket to it and secure it to the bottom of the car with a cable therefor eliminating flex and it would be harder to steal than just pulling 4 pins and walking away or would the brace break or compromise the hood.

There should be more than just the surround piece. Post up a pic of the bottom of your hood. I THINK I already know what your hood problem is....
