Hey All,
Here's the problem. The pin that is used on the "Hold open link" on the driver's side wiggled its way out. I found the pin and compared it to the passenger's side door and noticed the bottom of the pin has been worn flat. What type of pin should I get to replace it. I'm not sure what part I should be looking for. Pictures are attached that show the driver's side, passenger's side, and the parts that came out (original pin, spring, and hold open link). Thanks for the help.

Final Pics. I'm trying to be detailed due to my lack of the explanation of the problem.

You have several options as I see it.
Option 1: Reassemble the door detent arm and pin, then weld the pin to the hinge frame.
Option two: Use a bolt, nut and washers. Trust me, option two sucks. That is how it was (and still is) on my Firebird when I acquired it. The problem is that the bolt doesn't fit the hole properly so the detent bar wants to rock due to the detent spring force when opening and closing the door and makes a terrible creaking sound.
Option three: Replace the hinge with the GM hinge that is sold at the dealers. This option requies a lot of work since you have to drill and grind out the original spot welds that hold the door half of the hinge to the door, then drill new holes using the supplied template and bolt the new hinge in place.
Option four: Replace the entire door with a good used or new one. That is the option I plan to use.
Good luck,
Lon
