I'm new to 3rd Gen Camaro's and just bought a 1991 RS. I am looking for what I would call the front spoiler or valance. The one on mine is damaged due to parking lot stops. Can you buy these new? What do you recommend.

search,search,search, then if that fails try the for sale section, and next try ebay

 

Even GM parts direct doesn't have these (although they make u TRY and order it to find out!) so I suspect they are no longer made by GM at all.

I have searched myself a LOT and I cannot find ANY....you seem to be in the same position as me, choices are:
1: fix the old one
2: Scour junk yards for maybe months (valance is one of the FIRST things to go!)
3: Live with it

If anyone has any better ideas I'd love to hear them!!

 

just hang in there, just one year ago our local yard had 6 of them with only 2 decent vals the rest were either smashed or destroyed beyond repair, as well as the rest of the gfx (areo) now I have been searching for almost 6 weeks and I can only find 2 cars not to mention, not a single bird ( I love my Pontiac 3rd gen cousins but it sucks to own one here) the 3rd gens are getting harder to fine down here in WPB> have not tried Dade or Broward counties though.

 

That is exactly what I would expect...I also had to find a new bumper cover for mine before I got it painted a few weeks ago and I was VERY lucky to find one that onle needed minor repairs....and for $49.50 at pull ur own junk yard! woo hoo!

As for the valance I think I am gonna save all that searching time and use it to fix mine, it isn't beyond repair.
Just needs about half a day spent sanding, filling and re-inforcing!!

I'm thinking aluminum rods and a sh*t loads of hot glue on the back side of it! LOL

 

If you can stand the price, Hawks has 'em new (repo) - they may have used as well, call them and see.

This is what sucks! My last Camaro was a 1967 and I could find any part almost anywhere. I guess this is why I'm such a Camaro Junky. The harder the search the more determined I get. Thanks for all the Replies!

But obviously Hawks are aware how rare they are now and are milking it!!

oh well...eventually some Korean or Chinese company will start making them LOL
