Forgot to latch hood, you know what happened next :(
Yup, it flew up and ruined it as well as the hinges and also put a dent in the pass. side fender. I was pissed. the good news is that i went to the local JY and scored on a nice 85 SE hood. i hear that they are pretty rare because they only have the two front vents and only a few thousand were made.
This hood will fit my 92 correct?. the reason i ask is when i tried putting it on it sat up way to high in the front. i adjusted the latch down as far as it would go and the thing still sits a little high. i can post some pics soon.
If anyones looking to save a rare car its a complete runner minus the hood. a couple of dents here and there but it hasnt been wrecked. nicely optioned with the 305 and a 5 speed, overhead console, disk brake rear end etc. etc. no rust but it needs alot of tlc.
also at the JY i came across a NON A/C camaro complete with heaterbox and all controls as well as the ac pump delete bracket and pully on the 305 if anyones interested.

Yeah, the hood should interchange fine. To adjust the gaps, there are four rubber screw things, one at each corner of the hood. At the front corners of the engine bay, behind each headlight, there is a big hex rubber screw. You adjust them up or down to adjust the hood height at the front. The back ones are behind the hood hinges, they look a little different. They're big screws, with rubber heads on them, those adjust the back of the hood up/down. It can be a real pain to get all of the stuff on the front to line up right, but it can be done. The headlight housings can also be adjusted to help, if needed.

Im starting to wonder if this hood is tweeked or something, because everything including the rubber bumpers are adjusted as low as they will go and the hood still sits a bit high in the front, about a quarter inch. ill have another look tomorrow and see if i missed something.

I doubt it's tweaked, it would have kinks or obvious bends somewhere if it was. 1/4" isn't bad, I had like 3/4" of gap before I lined up the hood/bumper on my 83. If the hood won't go down any farther, you can try adjusting the nose up some. I don't remember there being much, if any adjustment in the front bumper support tray piece, I wound up using washers between that piece and the bumper, to pull it up a little. Also, try adjusting the back stops up a little, which should bring the very front edge of the hood down a little.
