anyone know part numbers for tail light filler panel?
I'm trying to locate a decent taillight filler panel. I got a free one when I bought the gta tail lights, but it's crap, scratched, broken tabs, and no matter howmuch I tried to polish it, it still looked like ****. So, I think I'll rather shell out for a brand new one, IF i can locate one.
For the 87-90 gta grid style light.
Also, since the rest of the car looks alot better, even the old lights I took off looked way better. Looks like 15 year difference between them in wear.
I was thinking of trying gmparts direct, or any other gm supplier, but need partnumber to do that.

I have a very nice one on my hands with no scratches or cracks that I would consider selling alone without the perfect taillights.
If interested,pm me.

Well, now I've tried that part number all over the place, but it seems I get no hits, as in "No parts found". So either it's not a a valid or the correct number, or it's just discontinued everywhere, and impossible to get. Too bad though

Classic Industries shows the '85-'90 TA filler panel in their current Firebird Catalog, but that doesn't mean they have it or that they'll even be able to get it. They list it as part number G4851(Classic's number, not GM's) for $170.95.
But if Classic is out of stock on an OEM part, since they get their parts directly from GM, if GM has discontinued the part and has no stock left anywhere, then Classic won't be able to get it. And how and when do they learn that a part is no longer available? When WE try to order it!!!
So don't get too excited just yet.
A junkyard is a source for finding used filler panels. Granted, those are usually the first things to get destroyed, so it's hard to find a good one. But good ones are out there from time-to-time. So if you search consistently, you'll eventually get lucky.
If you do find a new or good used filler panel, you can get a new bird emblem(silver only) from Modern Day Muscle. They're discontinued, but Perry(MDM) shows he still has a limited stock of them, and he's pretty good about keeping his website up-to-date, so I'd guess he still does have some.
