Roof strength question
Hello everyone I was shopping around for a Z-28 for a little while now and I came across one that I think has potential but the problem is that it has a custom made sunroof. My buddy was telling me that if you run high horsepower (high 300's) that the sunroof might be a problem. Do you think this is true and if so is there a way to renforce the roof so it holds together? thanks for the help Joe

Re: Roof strength question
Lol, reminded me of this...

It couldn't be any worse than T-Top cars, they're downright flimsy.
It's still a good idea to get some subframe connectors. Do you by any chance have a small, tiny, teeny weeny crack right at the back corner of the driver and/or passenger side window? The hardtop cars crack there because tehy dont flex and twist like the t-top cars do, but subframe connectors will prevent those cracks from getting worse so you can just get em welded up and repainted and not worry about it anymore. If you just get them welded up they'll come back unless you get the sfc's on there.
That said, Id ont know if you have those cracks anyway, but they are very common.

haha nice pic infernal... and I agree, it probably won't be any worse then a ttop car (I don't think they got any extra bracing from the factory but I could be wrong), so just get a nice pair of sub frame connectors and you should be fine.

Re: Roof strength question
Thanks for the replies, I was worried because my friend had an 83 Camaro hardtop and he expierienced those cracks like you said but since this thing has a custom sunroof in it and I was worried that maybe the glass could shatter or fly off or something if the frame twisted with all of that power on a full throttle run for example.
