If your clear coat ran a tad, you'll need to wetsand. Just make sure you use a very fine grit, as you don't want to break through the clear, trust me....

Did you not plan on wetsanding and buffing after you painted your car?
The paint must be wetsanded with at least a 1200 grit paper. I would go higher if you want a miror like finish without any orange peel. Then you have to buff it first with some type of rubbing compund. After that use a machine glaze from 3M. The machine glaze step will bring the shine back. I like to go back over the paint with a hand glaze from 3M. Stop by a local body shop and ask them for a some tips. They may be able to help you get the proper products needed to do the job.

As for the runs in the clear, You can wetsand them down if they are not big. If you have this massive drip then I would try to cut it off with a razor blade. This is one of those do at your own risk kinda things though. I have no problem doing it but I have also done it a few times.

Re: runs in clear coat

i've seen a tool on tv just for runs in paint. basically held a razor , on shaved it down with ease to the level of the rest of the paint.
