I am pulling the motor out ans clean up and repair the engine bay. I am looking to see what kinds of things were done to fix this.

 

i cut/chiseled the entire piece out and used this for my battery


it fit very well actually. made by afco, i got it from summit

 

is it spot welded in then seemsealled or completely welded. Can you remove the metal and form a new piece, then just use a traditional j-bolt holddown. I also see that the afco box sits in the wheel well alittle will that hit the tire.
