hello! i have a camaro that im fixing up, and im almost done with it and everything, but my one last major problem is the the front end has a lil bit of frame damage. it dosent look too bad, but, how much am i lookin at to repair it? or is it even worth repairing? ive done alot of work to get this car running, and id really hate for it to go to waste. here are some pics, the hood is on straight, let me know what you think...thanx

Re: frame damage?
Its hard to judge with the front end together. How did it get twisted like that without there being obvious damage? Take off the hood, front bumper and fenders, and that will help determine how much bending is the body and how much is the frame itself.

Re: frame damage?
Yeah, its hard to tell... it doesn't look right though. the rails under the fenders don't look so healthy, it looks like there are cuts on them? And is it just the pic, or does the driver's side frame rail look bent up?

If its the subframe, then I think you might be able to get it apart again and bend it back into place, depending on the damage. I've even seen a post on someone who cut off the subframe and replaced it. If that frame rail is bent though, I think its gonna be too much.

Re: frame damage?
I guess they both sorta look off. Has this car had a major front ender, then been pulled back out?

Re: frame damage?
did somebody twist with a strong engine or do you have an idea what caused it or did u buy it stripped?

Re: frame damage?
the support is all straight, and it was in a front end accident but it wasnt pulled back out.

Re: frame damage?
I might try to get an estimate from a body shop (assuming you can tow/drive it there) to see what it would cost to have them toss it on a frame puller and get it straight again. They should give a free estimate, and that could help you determine if its worth it

I also forgot, but you probably noticed when putting the front end together, than you have a little play in the fenders, you can push and pull them around by maybe half an inch, maybe even a bit more. The front left of my car is tweaked a bit, but i can mostly cover it up by carefully putting that fender on in the right way. So it doesn't have to be absolutly perfect to turn out ok.

Re: frame damage?
id say it was hit pretty hard, the mounts for the front impact bar have been cut off, and both upper rails look pretty f*cked

Re: frame damage?
hmm, i kinda noticed that the passenger side frame rail looks kinda bent towards the front and might be leaning down a bit? second thng is that there seems to be cuts (those black marks) in the middle of both frame rails.....
