91 RS hood Question.
91 RS hood Question.
I am about to buy a 91 RS and I have a really dumb question. Would a 88 Iroc Z hood fit on the RS, and if so how much do you think the hood will cost me. I just like the hoods of the Iroc's a lot more than the RS's.

I hope mine turns out as good as your trans am.. :-D well see I was thinking a base coat clear coat of white. :-/ well see how it turns out lol. any suggestions on what types of paint to buy? Also how much do you think I should strip. I was thinking about going all out like removing the doors to paint the door jams etc etc but I dont know. Did You paint your door jams and every where?

Re: 91 RS hood Question.
Well the best type of paint I could say if House of Color. It dosent really scratch or get smuged easy. But it costs like 5 grand for the paint, primer and clear. But you get a really funny reaction if u ask a guy at macco to paint your mirrors with it. And if you choose a paint that you think looks good but has a bad shine quality go to http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc thats the best of the best look at the pics there.

Re: 91 RS hood Question.
I use only ppg products for base coats but I like to use omni for clears as it tends to get less orange peel for me. I just sprayed a hood for my boss with napa products, it came out nice but I dont know how napa paints hold up.
when I did my car I sprayed the jams before my car itself but I just opened the door/hatch and taped up.

Re: 91 RS hood Question.
yea I'm gonna spray the jams also was thinking about it all day today. My wheels also need some new paint and some light 1500 sand paper around the paint areas because theres like dirt and grit I can get out with a buffer etc etc.
Gahh I hope it comes out good. Its my first Real major project. Other then that i have just spot painted and painted a bunch of motor cycle tins.
