4th gen rocker sheet metal?

I have searched a bit but havent found the info I was looking for.

I'm wondering if the rocker box section sheet metal from a 4th gen will work for a 3rd gen.

I have a lot of rot on both sides in the rockers ( among other places) and all would be 3rd gen donor cars have just as much rot.

4th gens are newer and seem to have better rust proofing so if they use the same or similar stampings finding sheetmetal wouldnt be a problem.

I doubt they're the same. I had some rust holes there too, and removing the whole rocker looks like too much work. I just cut out all the rust and welded in patch plates that I made from a rocker out of a donor car. A battery powered saws-all is great to have. Your just going to have to keep looking and find a rust free donor.

Re: 4th gen rocker sheet metal?

yeah that was my plan. I wasnt going to cut everything out just a healthy chunk from a donor to get all the correct contours and such then disect it and use the sepperate pieces to patch the bottom and the side that is spot welded to the floor board.

I havent gotten in to the rocker yet and the rust makes it hard to tell but most rocker box sections are layered and i want to repair all the layers before i start fabricating the braces i'm planning.
