REAR WINDOW LOUVERS W/ AERO WING???
Hey guys-
I really need help on this one, I have a fiberglass aero wing on my 1988 GTA and I really, really, really want a set of rear window louvers. However Im picky, its the smooth line one piece looking style, usually alumminum center and abs sides can I get these to jive?
Can I fab some form of a bracket to mount the wing to the louvers? Or vice versa. I know they both use the same area (metal around the hatch) as points of mounting them, however the wing isn't mounted but in the back, rattles like a son of a bitch, but its on that's what counts, lol.
Im not opposed to 3m-ing the wing to the louvers or even using some flat rubber, weatherstripping-like setup with screws to anchor the two together.
Let me know what you think...
Ive got the wing, the louvers are gonna be my road trip on thursday...

Re: REAR WINDOW LOUVERS W/ AERO WING???
How does the wing attach to the rear lift? The louvers use a clip that slides over the black window trim. The louvers then lock into the mounting clip. Not sure how the wing attaches to the car to know if standard louvers will work with it or not. I would not attach the wing to the louvers as they aren't that strong and need to be lifted to access the back glass.

so its either mount to the louver, modify the louvers, or sell the wing... I'm at an impass...

Yeah I think so, the aero wing mounts to the same piece but closer to the sail pannels, I just don't know how much the louvers over lap that mounting tab. The tips on the aero wing def. take up a good amount of space, they have some size too them...

The factory louvers don't extend beyond the window frame at all. The only place they will overlap is at the rear over the hatch panel.
