I just bought a 1982 Trans Am, 4-speed. The set of keys I have do not open the doors or hatch. Sorry for the dumb question, but is there a button or pull lever inside the car that will open the hatch? I figure if I can get the cylinder from either the door or hatch out, I can take it and get keys made. If it isn't one thing...its another...sigh....

 

LOL, welcome to the joy/frustration of owning an old car!! I dont think they had a hatch release in 82. I would take the car to a locksmith who wont rape you..... OR... Look at the year one or classic industries catalog. They have complete lock set ( 3 cylinders, 2 keys.) for something like 40 bucks. Well worth the money and you have three new cylinders and keys!!!
