Re: Name that Hood!

That's just a cowl-induction hood..Lots of places make them, with varying designs on the center ridge, angle of the front slope of it, etc.

Re: Name that Hood!

Bolt on use the factory hinges and pin on you have to use 4 hood pins one at each cornner to hold it down and you have to lift the whole hood off to take of a pin on. Get bolt on

Re: Name that Hood!

Bolt-on fits the stock hinges & is held down by generally the stock latch and open like a stock hood.

Pin-ons do not have the inner support structure to utilize the stock hinges and so are lighter. But they cannot be latched with a stock latch. They require 1 pin per corner, in addition to 2 or 3 pins/latches along each side. They hafta be lifted and set somewhere (like on the cars roof) not simply "tilted" up.

Re: Name that Hood!

I, myself like the factory "4-vent" hood. If you like the look of the cowl hood, then by all means, get it. It is a nice looking hood, and you dont see many birds with cowl induction hoods.

I like them both, but I think the cowl looks meaner.

You do realize that the picture in the OP and the hood in that link are two completely different designs right?

The hood in the picture appears to be a 3" Harwood cowl.

Re: Name that Hood!

dang, thats one of the nice t/a's ive seen in a long time. I'm getting pretty much the same hood for my 'maro, i can't decided between the 3" and 5' though haha, but i'd personally say go for the cowl induction.

It's a good look but a little too Ford to me. Just like a '95 Mustang for example.
Chevy already has the best traditional hood design with the cowl induction
shape IMO. Maybe a Cowl induction hood with the louvers built in would look cool

You can always buy the "add-on" itself , and bolt to the stock hood , custom stuff.

Which one isn't wide enough? The Jongbloed is the only cowl-style hood that follows those stock hood lines.

Re: Name that Hood!

here is a quick chop of what I mean. (sorry it's weak)

If you want louvers in one of those mustang looking hoods just cut out the holes and glass them in

Re: Name that Hood!

Ya'll keep calling the Jongbloed "Mustang looking".....But the Jongbloed existed BEFORE the Mustang one did.

So....If anything, the Mustang copied it from us.

Re: Name that Hood!

But Ford made a zillion hoods that look like that. Chevy has a nice looking traditional design that even Mopar and Pontiac guys sometimes use.
