Camaro bumper question
Camaro bumper question
I am drawing up an idea I have to shorten the nose on the camaro, but I think it would require me to remove the 'egg crate' stuff from the bumper.......is there any laws (Washington State) or reasons not too remove it? I understand it's there for safety, but is there anything saying I can't modify it?
Re: Camaro bumper question
I believe there are laws against remove safety equipment from vehicles that are to be driven on the roads.
Plus not sure of what liabilities you could be responsible for if you get an accident.
I’m not sure if the egg create stuff is there to also protect people in the other car?
Or what happens if your insurance company finds out after an accident that you removed it?
I have no idea, but just things to think about.

It's also there to hold the front bumper cover in place. It will droop in the places where it's removed. Bought my son an 86 sport coupe that had been hit in right front and bought some replacement parts on ebay (bumper cover, support bar and headlight bar) found it needed the egg crate to hold the cover in shape. Re: Camaro bumper question
you could always run a set of tubes underneath the bumper cover and have it attach to the cover. i plan on shortening my v6 89 camaro and thats what my plan is. the rest is still "planning".
