I have a 91 firebird with Ttops, i just ordered all the ground effect pieces that i was missing. Once i install those im gonna repaint the car and get new wheels. I want to go with black paint and black wheels, but im worried the T-Top will throw off the black paint, does anyone know how this will look? And any other advice on blacking out the car. Thanks

 

make sure the body work is PEEEEEERFECT .. otherwise you will imperfections from a mile away

tint your t-tops if you think it wont look right .. put 5% on my Red 91 MR2 t-tops and it looks awsome b/c there black

 

yeah the tints look good,,, without it hte black would just look a little...off

 

yea im gonna pay for a perfect body fix and paint, so you think if i tint the t tops they wont clash with the black paint?

 

nah.. its the same with a black body and convertible top .. still looks good

plus 5% tint (or double it up) will look really close to shiny black paint

I know its a camaro forum and all .. but the only other cars I love besides camaro's are the MR2's ..

heres a couple pics of my tint on the t-tops .. its just one layer of 5% .. REALLY helps with the light and heat during the summer

yea that looks good, ill probabaly get the paint done first and then the tint, thanks for you input!

 

and if you have some patience .. just go to your local auto parts store and a roll of tint is like $10

its not hard to do t-tops, just have to have patience to sit there and squeeze every little bubble out .. haha

(mine are awsome except for a little round thing on them that a "headliner" panel clips onto, but it was my first time .. did it in my kitchen )
