Anybody recognize what would have been mounted at one time???

On both sides of the engine bay there are mounting holes that I wonder what they were for. I thought of a strut tower brace when looking at the passenger side holes but does not make sense on the driver side. See attached...

Driver side holes: (under washer bottle)

Judging by the small size of the holes, my first thought would be an alarm siren, but no reason there would be 2 sets, sort of 2 sirens. Maybe a siren on one side and the other....???

 

Hmm, thats a good idea, never thought of that one.

 

Driver side set vaguely look like cruise unit mount as seen by the washer tank shape

Possibly sound system mounts later removed

Ah jeese, don't tell me that. After that comment I dug through photos of others cars but could only find something mounted there on one of like 10. Mine does have cruise but I have never tested/used it. Damn, I hope that is not it missing. Guy before me molested the car, been trying to repair it ever since.
.... guess I'll have to dig into the shop manual again.

 

Definately an alarm related thing.
