Hello, everyone. I just bought a 91 RS off of ebay.. anywho, the car has been pieced together from about 3 or 4 cars... Its 305 is gone and has the motor and trans out of a 350 car.. The interior is completely stripped but came with the car everything to make it black interior. it was originally grey. The doors came from another car and the fenders and bumper cover came from another.. Anyways it wasn't ever wrecked.. just the best parts of three cars put together.. My question is... the hood corner is contacting the corner of the bumper cover on each side... Now I know its not gaped correctly but even if it was, the passenger side at least would still touch.. the cover isn't ripped at all and if i can use it I will. But I think proper gaps make a car. I am going to put this car together with all the parts I have from old projects and see if I like it.. If I do, I will do a really nice paint job and keep it, if not I will put a budget paint job on it and flip it.. I have never had a camaro but have had a bunch of 3rd gen firebirds.. still have a few. Back to my question.. what can I do about this??? do I need a new bumper cover? its like the very edge of the bumper cover is warped and touching the hood.

 

I went to the junk yard today and all of them look to be warped in like the corners of the bumper cover is turned in... what are you guys doing to fix this??

 

from those pics it looks to me like the hood is crooked. maybe you should try that first

 

Yes the hood isnt lined up right but thats not the problem.. I wasnt the nose to follow the hood to fender gap put its not, the corner on each side of the nose is pointing in.. like its warped and all of them in the junk yard looked this way too.. I can adjust not to kit but the corner will still be pointing in.

 

oh i see what your saying now i think mine are pointing in to.i dont know how it can be fixed

 

Heat gun and some luck urathane is plyable with a little heat.

 

Ok I talked to my body man and he said the same thing... i guess I'll try that and if I dont like it I'll save a buncha money and get a new one....thanks!

 

Look close at the front edge of the fender where the bumper bolts onto it. If that area isn't straight it will add to your problem. I think your biggest problem is you are dealing with 20+ year old plastic. But like was mentioned a little heat does wonders.
