Dented Center Bar Fix...
Working on an '84 TA for a friend, this is the second time the
center bar has been damaged, just too soft it seems...
I have some stainless scrap in my junk so I take a shot at
making something durable...
I was able to get the curve real close, spot welded with a mig
welder, ss welds pull alot, I would braze it if I had to do it over again...
I could polish it, but the scotchbrite finish hides the slight waves.
I don't see this getting dented again. Going to put it on as is,
it can be painted later if it doesn't look right. I will get a pic of
it on the car in a few days. Anyone done a similar fix before?

Re: Dented Center Bar Fix...
nice job, i was in a bit of a hurry when i did mine. it was filler and paint. i thought about doing something similar to what you did, however i had my fill of fab work this year, i redid the whole car in one summer, including making it a t-top car so had to skimp on somethings due to time restraints. nice job though
