Painting the Camaro Myself

Alright guys, the car is completely taken apart, bumpers, molding, lights, GFX, everything, and im almost done block (wet)sanding with 400 grit on the plastic, as well as the metal body panels. Im leaving the front fenders on the car, and the body is almost perfect, EVERYTHING is lined up, gaps are PERFECT, and there is only one (<yes really only one), spot on the car that needs bondo, small dent on the front pass fender. I have a compresso and booth, and i want to start spraying this weekend, now i what im asking is, what paint/primer/clear should i go with? primer i have NO idea on, but paint and clear i'm leaning towards ppg or matrix, probably matrix. im want to do the original color, 1991 dark red metallic or whatever its called. also, what spraygun/tip should i use? thanks!

I'm guessing this is the first time you have ever used a paint gun or no? Try to locate a local automotive paint store, They have Lots of information on this kind of stuff. As for the primer, Try a 2k primer. As Long as you don't have alot of scratches from grind marks etc it should fill them up. I'm actually in your same boat right now, i have my car All stripped down like you and am ready to shoot primer although i had many more dents then you did. Also on A Spray tip I usually use around 1.7 for primer and paint. May sound sorta odd to some painters but It turns out just fine. Again if you really need help, Try and find a auto paint store It answered a bunch of questions that I had

ive used a paint gun before, but, not to paint a car, for the side of a hose so that really doesnt count. ok ill look into the 1.7 tip, for a gun, do i NEED a gravity feed? i have a gun with the paint "tank" on the bottom of the gun

You don't need gravity feed, but I would strongly recommend it. They take a lot less air pressure than siphon feed guns do. Gravity feed also cuts down on overspray and the amount of material used (especially on HVLP guns).
