Re: 4th gen bird spoiler

theres actually quite a few members here that have done the 4th gen. spoiler
FYRCHKN,and Stephen are 2 I remember right off the top of my head.
neither of them did the center post delete though.
I have the 4th gen style fiberglass wing on my car if you're just looking for pics of the wing.

Re: 4th gen bird spoiler

I just hope you got a LT1 wing, not a LS1 wing....

They are different.....the LS1 wings don't sit flat. As me how I know......

Re: 4th gen bird spoiler

I was originally planning on deleting the feet, but after alot of examining and thinking I decided that would be a bad idea. It would leave very large holes in the bottom of the wing that I just didn't feel like glassing in. Also, if you delete the feet then you'll only have to small bolts holding the whole thing on.

Here's my thread on this subject:

Re: 4th gen bird spoiler

Believe it or not....I STILL have only the 2 small outer bolts holding the wing on!

The center 2 bolts are holding the extensions to the wing, but nothing is holding the extensions to my deck.

Yes, but what I meant to say was that those feet provide alot of support. Before I extended mine down the wing would try to flap around a little anytime I was above 60 mph. If you remember I had the extensions on for a few months before I finally got around to bolting them to the deck lid. The extended feet give it support because when you close the hatch the arms get pushed up when they make contact with the quarter panel, which pushes the rear of the wing down and makes a tight contact between the feet and the deck lid.

Re: 4th gen bird spoiler

I think R.J. still has no extensions in his & I think he used a LS1 wing.

I was gonna add another layer to mine then sand & shape then, but I'm just gonna find a LT1 wing. Easier, cleaner & it fixes the 2 forward arms fits too. Those wouldn't fun to mold & fix.

Re: 4th gen bird spoiler

I kept the center posts intact, and mine still bounced. I had to make little wrap around clips for the tips of the arms to keep the thing steady.

Re: 4th gen bird spoiler

Yeah, but purple states he doesn't recommend removing the center posts because after he go the spoiler, modded, painted, and installed it cracked along the bottom...
