Re: Bumper Cover Removal

The push pins on the bottom, push pins under the tail light housings, then 2 ( or 3) studs per side with nuts into the wheel wells.

Re: Bumper Cover Removal

The push in retainers are easy to remove with a pair of side cutters (dikes, diagonal cutters, wire cutters) whatever you call them. Just grab hold of the center pushin part and pull it out. That should release the other part and then it will pull out. If none of that works then just use the cutters to cut the whole thing off. If it's a front bumper you have a few studs on each side that go through the fenders with nuts on the back. If it's a back bumper the nuts are inside where the spare tire goes and the same on the other side. It can be a little work getting everything loose. Good luck.

Ok so just the push pins on top and bottom, then the 2 or 3 studs INSIDE the car right? You cant get them from the wheel well outside the car correct? And where do i get the new push pins? Thanks for the info guys!

Re: Bumper Cover Removal

The push pins can be reused, if you pull them out intact.

I saved all mine when I stripped a parts car.

Re: Bumper Cover Removal

Thanks guys!
Now for another question, front pass. side fender removal. Do i have to take the front bumper cover off to remove the fender? Im trying to get all dent free panels, should come out cheaper in the end than having a body shop charge $70 a hour lol

Re: Bumper Cover Removal

You don't have to remove the bumper completely but you may have to loosen it up across the front to clear the studs going thru the front of the fender. And if you have ground effects on then it's even a little tougher.

Re: Bumper Cover Removal

side cut pliers work best, just get em in between the head of the plastic rivet and pry up, then pull the whole push rivet out. Now if your doing the front bumper, its easier in my opinion just to pull the header panel and front fenders all as one, cause its hell to get to the bolts that hold the bumper cover to the fenders

This man speaks the truth! It takes less time to take it all off as one unit then to get in there with all the socket extensions and the sort. Just take a buddy with you...it's a tad awkward.
