Door striker backing plate?

Hi all, Im a long time viewer, first time poster. I have a 92 vert that i had some body work done on a few years ago then I just let it sit, I know shame on me but it was financial problems, anyways. The shop replaced the drivers quater and the door. Ive been restoring it these last weeks and noticed the reinforcement plate behind the door striker is missing No wonder the door moves so much when i drove it. Needless to say im pissed, but oh well. Can i get one somewhere? Ive searched around but maybe Im calling the part the wrong name, is it convertible specific? thanks guys great website.

I'm not sure I understand. Are you talking about the washer looking part of the striker or the plate the striker screws into. Or another part inside the quarter?

Re: Door striker backing plate?

I could take a pic i supose, if you look behind the striker inside the quater panel, there is a plate that rivits to the inside " framework" of the quarter panel, the two rivets are about 2 ish in. to the outside of the door jamb and are visible from the striker side of the door. without this piece i can move the stricker alot just with my hand, not good since the doors act as support for our cars. ill give the junkyard a try thanks snow.

I see. If it's riveted in I'd say it's vert only. Good luck with your hunt!
