Split Sunrrof??? - 1985 Firebird
On a trip down from columbus to cincinnati, the wind caught the left pannel of what i would call a split sunroof and totally ripped it off. it hit the freeway and exploded into a million pieces. Obviously i'm looking to replace it but the more i look, the more i;m thinking that this roof configuration may be aftermarket or special order.
Anyone have any ideas on what it'd be called or where i can get a replacement?
Thanks in advance,
AJ

that's def aftermarket and my guess the company is no longer around anymore, maybe someone else will chime in. That looks like something that was installed circa early 90's.
If you were able to save the latches after it shattered you could have had a glass shop cut you a new piece of glass to put in there.
But the "easiest" thing to do is look into a complete replacement aftermarket sunroof and replace the whole thing. You can get a replacement single pane sunroof that should fit in that hole with very little trimming (if any at all) pretty reasonable.
Places like JC Whitney used to sell univeral fit sunroofs in their catalogs. You might try eBay too.
If it were me, and were restoring the car, I would find a scrap roof and weld it in and remove the sunroof altogether....I'm not a big fan of them.

I didn't look through the site but, this would be your best bet if there were still seals available for it....

i never ever saw that on a thirdgen or anything before. you still have one side.
my suggestion have someone custom cut new glass for you useing the good side as a template and devise a way so they never fly off again
goodluck

Gc,If you can go through the junk yards it's a his & hers sunroof. It's aftermarket but it's a pretty common one.I've seen them on a ton of cars back in the early 80s-90s,probably even the 70s.
If they don't have a car in the yard with one,I'd ask in the office if they have it pulled in stock.Check craigs list too
Hope this helps,
