Elaborate please, I cant tell what part you are talking about. Window gaskets, ground effects? Where is it located on the car and what does it do? That should help get some info.

The metal rails with the plastic insert was an aftermarket moulding. I still have a few ends and maybe some black rail but not enough to do a whole car. As far as I know all factory moulding was stick on. Stick on aftermarket moulding is still available in lots of designs and colors.

Howy03 did you ever locate the moldings? I too am serching for some for my 83 ta. They were factory installed moldings. I have the metal rails but I am missing some of the inserts.

Sorry I didnt reply sooner, I have been a bit out of commision lately due to an injury. I have seen some of the older Camaros with that kind of trim, but never a Bird. It was a narrow rubber strip with a metal backing retainer. It wasnt rounded on top and bottom edge, it had sharp edges.

You might see if you can manage to locate some on an old Camaro that matches, or you might try other GM vehicles from the same year, other vehicles may have used the same trim. Seems like I have seen a lot of early 80's buicks and Olds with the same trim style, so that might be a place to start.
